General Guidelines

The University of Iowa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is responsible for reserving all common areas in the Paul W. Brechler Press Box.  All requests for the use of this facility must be submitted to the Director of Premium Seating & Stadium Club Operations.  The common areas are reserved in the order in which requests are received, with certain groups receiving priority consideration (see priority of use).  All reservations are considered tentative until the event contract is executed and the deposit and necessary insurance is received. 

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reserves the right to assign, and if necessary, re-assign the common areas to assure the most appropriate use of space.

All catering must be arranged through the Iowa Memorial Union.  Groups are not allowed to bring their own food or beverage into the Paul W. Brechler Press Box. 

The group scheduling the facility will be held financially responsible for any special clean-up, maintenance, or repair resulting from the meeting or event. 

The University of Iowa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reserves the right to require ushers, public safety officials, or other security personnel for events held in the Paul W. Brechler Press Box.  The Department of Public Safety provides all security personnel.  The group scheduling the event is responsible for all applicable security charges and fees.  

The University of Iowa Office of Risk Management requires that users of the Paul W. Brechler Press Box provide a Certificate of Insurance for no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence in Commercial General Liability insurance naming the State of Iowa; Board of Regents, State of Iowa; and University of Iowa as additional insureds. 

All groups using the Paul W. Brechler Press Box shall obey all published University, UI Athletics Department, and IMU Catering policies and guidelines, as well as local, State and Federal laws.  Violations of this policy may result in the loss of scheduling privileges within the Paul W. Brechler Press Box. 

The Paul W. Brechler Press Box is a smoke-free facility.

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property belonging to the users of the facility.

UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics staff reserves the right to enter any common area for the purpose of inspection, repair, or emergency.

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reserves the right to establish and impose additional rules and regulations, set special rental and use arrangements, and require additional fees and charges in connection with the use of the Paul W. Brechler Press Box.
